Georgia - the "land of St. George", intoxicated by the sun, filled with light, dancing, singing, proud, loving and in love

Georgia! Welcome to this land of elegance and melancholy...
A land of natural artistry and eternal celebration, sparkling spirit, warmth, vibrant emotions, unrivaled hospitality, and unforgettable experiences.
A country renowned for its hospitality – "A guest is God's messenger," as the Georgian proverb goes. Over the centuries, the Georgian people have developed their traditions of hospitality. Love and boundless respect for guests, devotion to the duties of hosts, and traditional feasts have been passed down from generation to generation.
A country that makes everyone who visits it fall in love with it even once!
Georgia is hospitality, it is the sea and mountains, it is the gentle sun,
it is architecture, traditions, it is... breathtaking!

THE CITY OF TBILISI. Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia, its heart. It is the country's largest city and an important economic, political, transportation, scientific, cultural, and spiritual center. Tbilisi's history spans several centuries; its former name was Tiflis. In 2008, it celebrated its 1,550th anniversary.

Tbilisi means "warm spring," and "tbili" means "warm" in Georgian. The city's name and origin are associated with the warm sulfur springs located within its boundaries. The city also has an old name, Tiflis.

Tbilisi was founded in the 5th century AD by Vakhtang Gorgasali. By the 6th century, it had become the capital of Iberia, a state that at the time was located in modern-day Georgia. There is also a legend about the origins of Tbilisi. It states that during a hunt by King Vakhtang Gorgasali, his falcon and its prey, a pheasant, fell into a hot spring. Having discovered the spring, the king ordered a city to be built on its site. Today, the site of the legendary spring is home to the Abanotubani quarter, the oldest district of Tbilisi. Tbilisi has virtually everything that will interest our young visitors to the capital: ancient monuments, modern centers, mountains, forests, plains, and lakes—Tbilisi is quite diverse in its composition.

In addition to the indigenous Georgian population, it is home to Armenians, Russians, Jews, Ossetians,

Azerbaijanis, Assyrians, Greeks, and others.

This tour of Tbilisi, Georgia's current capital, includes visits to Metekhi Church, which offers a stunning panorama of the old town; Narikala Fortress, which you'll reach by cable car; Abanotubani, the sulfur baths district; Meidan Square; and Sharden Street. You'll also visit the new park on Rika and the Mesoplio Khidi bridge. After a sightseeing tour of our capital, we'll return to the hotel for lunch.
After lunch, we'll head up to the amusement park: "BOMBORA," (the famous funicular) located on Mount Mtatsminda. It's a wonderful place to spend time, and it's no wonder it's Tbilisi's most visited park. There's something for everyone: some will simply want to wander the beautiful paths and enjoy the natural surroundings, others will thrill to ride the extreme rides, and still others will enjoy the incredible views of Old Tbilisi.
The park is designed in a fantasy style—outlandish, bizarre figures are literally everywhere. Even the cafes and restaurants are uniquely decorated—who would have thought that delicious dishes are served in a mysterious cave, or that you can enjoy coffee and sweets in an upside-down house?

The Chavchavadze estate in Tsinandali became the center of Georgian social life in the mid-1920s. Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov, Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, and, of course, Alexander Griboyedov frequented it. The poet fell in love with Alexander Chavchavadze's daughter, Nina. The marriage was short-lived. A few weeks after the wedding, Griboyedov was sent to Persia as ambassador. In Tehran, the Russian imperial mission was attacked by a mob of religious fanatics. Griboyedov died. The poet was buried on Mount Mtatsminda in Tbilisi. Nina Chachavadze outlived her husband by 30 years but never remarried. She is buried next to Griboyedov, and his tombstone bears her words: "Your mind and deeds are immortal in Russian memory, but why did my love outlive you!" Return to the hotel in Telavi.
