“FROM GEORGIA WITH LOVE”
The 10th International Festival and Competition "WONDERLAND" From Georgia with Love is organized by "GEO. FEST.GEORGIA" & "TEAM TRAVEL" with the support of the Board of the European Association of Folklore Festivals (EAFF) and the Batumi Municipality. The festival and competition will be held in the resort town on the Black Sea coast at the "EUPHORIA" Concert Hall in Batumi. During their stay in Georgia, groups will have the opportunity not only to participate in the festival but also to see many interesting and colorful places in our country and learn about Georgian history and culture.
Georgia - the "land of St. George", intoxicated by the sun, filled with light, dancing, singing, proud, loving and in love
THE CITY OF TBILISI. Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia, its heart. It is the country's largest city and an important economic, political, transportation, scientific, cultural, and spiritual center. Tbilisi's history spans several centuries; its former name was Tiflis. In 2008, it celebrated its 1,550th anniversary.
Tbilisi means "warm spring," and "tbili" means "warm" in Georgian. The city's name and origin are associated with the warm sulfur springs located within its boundaries. The city also has an old name, Tiflis.
Tbilisi was founded in the 5th century AD by Vakhtang Gorgasali. By the 6th century, it had become the capital of Iberia, a state that at the time was located in modern-day Georgia. There is also a legend about the origins of Tbilisi. It states that during a hunt by King Vakhtang Gorgasali, his falcon and its prey, a pheasant, fell into a hot spring. Having discovered the spring, the king ordered a city to be built on its site. Today, the site of the legendary spring is home to the Abanotubani quarter, the oldest district of Tbilisi. Tbilisi has virtually everything that will interest our young visitors to the capital: ancient monuments, modern centers, mountains, forests, plains, and lakes—Tbilisi is quite diverse in its composition.
In addition to the indigenous Georgian population, it is home to Armenians, Russians, Jews, Ossetians,
Azerbaijanis, Assyrians, Greeks, and others.
ADJARA REGION - BATUMI CITY. Adjara is one of the most popular and beautiful corners of Georgia, located in the southwestern part of the country, on the Black Sea coast.
Tourists are particularly drawn to Adjara's natural beauty, which spans a variety of climates and has retained its pristine appearance to this day.
Batumi is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Black Sea coast. Its historic and modern architecture, port, botanical garden, and seaside boulevard, picturesque squares and streets, and a wide selection of restaurants and hotels from renowned brands make this city the face of modern Georgia.
It's worth noting that in 2012, the American Academy of Hospitality named Batumi the best tourist destination of the year.
In the second half of the 20th century, foreign European architects worked to give the city a modern look. Batumi's development is closely linked to global economic and industrial development: it was during this period that the famous Nobel brothers and the Rothschild family began their food business in Batumi. Sunny Georgia awaits you with love!
May your talents conquer Georgia, and may Georgia's wonders conquer you!
THE CITY OF KOBULETI. The climatic resort of Kobuleti is located on the Black Sea coast, northwest of Batumi, at an altitude of 5 meters above sea level. The main attraction of Kobuleti is its famous fine-pebble beach. The climate is subtropical, with hot summers. The swimming season runs from May to October. Kobuleti is known for one of the longest streets on the Black Sea coast, lined with hotels of varying service levels and beaches. Most of Kobuleti's beaches are sandy or fine-pebbled.
The resort of Gonio is located on the left bank of the Choroki River, on the Black Sea coast, and is one of Georgia's most popular resorts.
The Gonio-Apsaros fortress, associated with the famous myth of the Argonauts, is also located here. It was here that Jason and the Argonauts searched for the Golden Fleece.
